IN the early 1950s there was a huge boom in television broadcasting. They started to air sit-coms, news broadcasts and soap operas. There was also a massive rise in the amount of people who bought TVs. in 1946 6,000 TVs were sold in the US but by 1956 12million TVs had been sold.
