The uprising began on the night of Pokrov day, October 14, in the village of Voznesenovka . At 10 o'clock in the morning Voznesenovsky equestrian combat detachment under the command of Shitin without a single shot took the village of Leonovka . At 11 o'clock a rally was held in Leonovka, at which the residents were told about the uprising that had begun in the Khorinsky aimak , they explained its goals and objectives. Then began the mobilization of the male population. Small fighting groups (about 50 people) arrived in Leonovka and Voznesenovka. By lunchtime of the same day, a rebel detachment (about 150 people) attacked the commune “Manai Zam” (“Our way”), located in the village of Edermag of the Yermansky Somon. During the capture of Edermaga by the rebels, six local commune activists, including women, were killed. At two o'clock the same night to the stationIlka arrived from Chita a liquidation squad of the Plenipotentiary Government of the OGPU in the East Siberian Territory , headed by M. S. Yakovlev. An hour later, the detachment reached Leonovka and took it under control. A rebel detachment preferred to retreat from the village. Detachments of the OGPU and the rebels met in battle in the area Huragata only 17 October. He was long and fierce. The Chekists used machine guns and as a result, the OGPU detachment managed to disperse the forces of the rebels. Accurate data on the number of dead and wounded on both sides are not available, approximately 12 insurgents were killed during the battle
