Baribaev uprising - the uprising of Sharuy (peasants) in the village of Bakaly of the Baribayevsky district (now Balkashsky district ) of the Almaty region (March 1930). It was directed against collectivization and the policy of repression of the Soviet government . A rebel detachment of about 100 people. led by K. Akhmetzhanov, K. Ibragimov, Z. Saukymbaev on March 25, seized the Bakalinsk commune, dissolved the village council, distributed to the people the confiscated grain, cattle and other property. The rebels destroyed the telephone line, the railway, captured 10 villages of the Minkumsky district . K. Akhmetzhanov tried to organize joint armed actions with refugees and rebelsAksu district . The Baribaev uprising was crushed by an armed OGPU detachment . 29 people were sentenced to death.
