The Watergate scandal occurred during Nixon's presidency, when he had robbers break in and this lead to an entire cover-up and money trail,. The accusations and court room visits continued on for many years, as Nixon did not want to release the tapes. The scandal ended with Nixon's resignation. Forrest saw the break-in when he was in his hotal room after meeting Nixon.
