The Safavid Dynasty was the most important dynasty to ever rule modern-day Iran. The day they started ruling is considered the day modern history for Iran began. It established Shīʿite Islam as the national religion in Iran, creating a sense of unity and bringing awareness to the people of Iran to many problems they had disregarded up until then.
