This was a landmark decision by the supreme court. It officially declared that school segregation as unconstitutional, even if the segregated school are otherwise equal in quality. The original lawsuit was filed by the Brown family after there local public school refused to enrol their daughter.

It had a massive impact as it removed parts of segregation.
