Groveland Boys Case (29 jun 1949 ano – 7 mar 1951 ano)
Descrição:
One of Marshall's major cases. A newlywed white women accused four young black men of abducting and raping her. The explosive accusations brought the National Guard to Lake County, Florida, where mob violence from the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) drove hundreds of blacks from their lives in Groveland. One of Marshall's visits to Groveland was insisted that his agents provide the NAACP attorney with around-the-clock protection because of the violence. In 1951 Thurgood Marshall and his attorneys from the Legal Defense and Educational Fund, convinced that the Groveland Boys had been railroaded in Lake County.
