Marie Curie and Pierre Curie discovered new
radioactive elements Polonium and Radium
which were discovered in "pitch blend ores".
Her husband abanded his own research to help
her assist on this one. It all turned out well as
both of them were eager to show the world.
Thus they were jointly awarded the Davy Medal
