23 - Cuban naval blockade starts. DEFCON 3
24 - Sov ships reach quarantine line but stop
25 - Adlai Stevenson confront USSR at the UN but they refuse to answer. DEFCON 2
26 - First letter - Soviets remove middiles if President Kennedy publicly guarantees that he would not invade Cuba
27 - U2 Spy plane shot down over Cuba. 2nd letter
28 - crisis over. Krushchev announces Sov missiles would be dismantled and he did not insist on removing US missiles from Turkey
