-The Victorian era was streched through the reign of Queen Victoria. It was an exciting period with many literary schools and artistic styles. Furthermore political, religious and social movement flourished. It was a time of broad imperial expansion, prosperity and political reform.
the victorian age was an complex age, so that was the reason why it has been called for the second english renaissance. In addition it was also the beginning of Modern times. The social classes of England were newly reforming, and fomenting. the middle classes were steadily growing. The upper classes was changing their simple hereditary aristocarcy to nobility. The Victorian Era was also a time of tremendous scientific progress and ideas.
-Darwin took his Voyage of the Beagle, and posited the evolutions theory.
-Oliver Twist, novel by Charles Dickens, published serially from 1837 to 1839 in Bentley’s Miscellany and in a three-volume book in 1838. The novel was the first of the author’s works to realistically depict the impoverished London underworld and to improve that poverty leads to crime.
-Thomas Sawyer is the title character of the Mark Twain novel The Adventures of Tom Sawyer wich ended up by being the best seller works by twain. The novel is about a young boy growing up along the Mississippi River. It is set in the 1840s in the fictional town of St. Petersburg. In the novel Tom Sawyer has many adventures with his friend.
