1. How do we know from the text that the boys are really starving?
In the story, they explain that they only had two ounces and 9 breads beside, the boils were never washed and they needed to polished them with their spoons until they shone again.
2. What is Oliver chosen to do?
He chose his master for giving him food.
3. Why does Oliver´s request cause such a commotion?
Because he was starving and wanted to eat.
4. What do you think will happen to Oliver in the future?
He is going to work for somebody without getting much money but so much that he can pay the bill.
5. What do you think Charles Dickens (through the character of Oliver) is criticizing?
In his time, it was much stories like Oliver Twist and he decided to write another one.
6. Does Dickens´ story Oliver Twist still apply today? Find examples to back up your answer.
Maybe, because it´s in so much counties the same situation like in this text that so many kids are starving and don’t have food to eat.
