The Market Revolution was a huge change in the economy that shifted from a subsistence farming system to a market-based economy. It made people more self-sufficient through the shift from subsistence farming to growing surplus crops in order to market for more money. The change from a producer to a consumer-based economy changed the way goods and ideas were spread because it bridged the gap between people separated by geography.
