Atlantic World:

The Atlantic World was a geographic region made up of four continents surrounding the Atlantic Ocean with an emphasis on connections, transactions, and migrations. The Atlantic World was interconnected with the Columbian Exchange and South Atlantic System which greatly increased trade, but relied on slave labor to do so, and ultimately it led to a drastic increase in slavery. It was significant because it created a stage for colonization, the Columbian Exchange, and triangular trade that began to connect the two worlds, but at the price of unforgivable damages to enslaved people and their cultures.
