A narrow Fellow in the Grass (16 abr 1865 ano – 31 maio 1865 ano)
Descrição:
“He likes a Boggy Acre -
A Floor too cool for Corn -
But when a Boy and Barefoot
I more than once at Noon
Have passed I thought a Whip Lash
Unbraiding in the Sun
When stooping to secure it
It wrinkled And was gone -”
The poem seems to discuss Lincoln himself regarding both his early life as a simple country boy and the suddenness of his death. Other sections of the poem seem to describe how united the nation became after his death.(narrow Fellow= Tall and skinny Abe Lincoln)
