Russian art movement developing in the 1920s, and becoming the official state art movement under Stalin, gaining significant traction in 1928 due to state promotion and harsh restrictions against Suprematism. Was official art style of USSR from 1932 to 1988, but peaked in 60s. Characterized with strong messages of social unity, lack of abstract elements, and the artist Ryazhsky.
