The American Revolution was an 8 year war from April of 1775 to September of 1783.
The American Revolution, again, lasted 8 years and was the war for independence against the British over the course of many years of tension and protest.
This was all caused by America's development of thier own identity, growing resentment to the British due to their strict trade and economic control
The lingering after effects of the American Revolution include the continuing of the American pride and started the way towards a government of deomcracy.
