Descrição:

The Edict of Nantes was issued in 1598 and acknowledged Catholicism as the official religion of France but guaranteed the Huguenots the right to worship in selected places in every distinct and allowed them to retain a number of fortified towns for their protection. This ended the religious problem which caused a disappearance of conflict temporarily, causing this to belong to States and Other Institutes.
