Copernicus played an important role in the progression of astrology. Before him, many believed the Earth stood still and the heavens and other planets moved around it. Copernicus, however, established that all the planets including Earth orbited around the sun. He developed the heliocentric model that laid out the solar system and orbital paths of the planets.
