The Peace of Westphalia was a series of treaties that ended the majority wars of religion in Europe. The treatises ended the thirty years war of the Holy Roman Empire and the eighty years war with the Dutch Republic and Spain. It also began the modern international system based on the ideas of the Westphalia sovereignty. And helped with religious tolerance of Roman Catholic, Lutheran, and Calvinists.
