The development of the integrated circuit was the constrast of the third generation of computers. Transistors were miniaturized and placed on silicon chips, called semiconductors, which drastically increased the speed and efficiency of computers.
And we added keyboard and monitors to the computers, reducing them from a computer which occupated a room to a computer similar to the ones we have now a days
