Descrição:
- Born March 22, 1868, in Morrison, Illinois and died on December 19, 1953 in San Marino, California
- He was known for his oil drought experiment which helped find the charge of an electron.
- He did experiments that determined the ratio of the charge of an electron to its mass and using these two values was able to accurately find the mass of an electron.
- He found that and electron carries exactly one unit of negative charge and has a mass of 1/1840 the mass of a hydrogen atom.
- We ended up getting a better understanding of the atomic theory and the atom itself.
- He has won multiple awards such as the Nobel Prize in Physics, Hughes Medal, Franklin Medal, IEEE Edison Medal, Comstock Prize in Physics, ASME Medal
