With modern Luoyang as its capital, the Eastern Zhou had arguably the most advanced empires of its time in many aspects. An advanced aristocratic government was held in place for centuries, as was necessary to keep the army stable and healthy. The rise of the knight, chivalry, chariots, and infantry helped the Eastern Zhou dominate the plains of China. First known army with over a million warriors. However, the warring states period proved the end of the dynasty, as the Qin overthrew their capital in 256 BC.
