During the 1930’s Hitler’s Nazi Germany, Mussolini’s Fascist Italy, and Tojo’s Imperialist Japan conquered territories in Europe, Africa and Asia. England and France began fighting Germany after it invaded Poland in 1939. The USA joined the war when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii in 1941. The Soviet Union fought against Germany too. During this war the Nazis tried to kill all Jews in Europe. Germany was defeated in the Spring of 1945. In August of 1945 the US used Atomic bombs against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the war.
