2nd most powerful rule sin the Ottoman Empire and a former slave. (Ruled from 1522-death) and also named Suleiman the Magnificent. His favorite wife was Roxelana. In the 15th century, it served as the main residence and administrative headquarters of the Ottoman sultans.
