Archaic-Early Basketmaker Period (American Southwest) (5 jul 7000 ano antes da era comum – 15 maio 1500 ano antes da era comum)
Descrição:
Archaic people known for their distinguished basketry. Hunter-gatherers reliant on wild seeds, grasses, nuts and fruit for food who changed their movement patterns and lifestyle by maximizing the edible wild food and small game within a geographical region. Thus the growing seasons of plants, rather than the migrations of large animals, guided their seasonal population shifts. Lived in rock alcoves or open brush shelters. Summer campsites were made at high elevations. They wore clothing made of hides.
