The popular type of smart phones we use today were launched by Steve Jobs an American inventor, designer, and entrepreneur who was the co-founder of Apple Inc. In 2007 Steve debuted the Apple Iphone a revolutionary device that changed mobile communication forever. His invention was a multi touch screen device, a combination of a music player, mobile phone, digital camera, and personal computer, with many more features such as different applications that could be download. It was a big advancement compared to the previous cell phones. The touchscreen allowed users to control all programs and functions with their fingertips, creating a more tangible physical experience for users. Other companies followed suit with similar touch screen smartphones, such as Android who released their first smartphone in 2008. Google had previously purchased and developed Android operating systems so all Android phones included google products like Google Maps, YouTube, and Google search among others. Android's open-source platform, lead to a wide variety of smartphones from different manufacturers. The evolution of Smartphones and Apple Iphones continue to progress today, there's always a new feature or update in the works for the future.
