Description: The Six-Day War was a brief but decisive conflict where Israel launched preemptive strikes against Egypt, Syria and Jordan after escalating tensions in the region. Israel rapidly captured the Sinai Peninsula and Gaza Strip from Egypt, the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan, and the Golan Heights from Syria. The war dramatically altered the poltical map of the Middle East, strengthened Israel’s territorial position, and intensified the Arab-Israeli Conflict. The war also solidified U.S.-Israel alliances during the Cold War.
