The policy of mutual aid donation has existed in china for about 20 years. It was supposed to help numerous patients using blood. But it also became a breeding ground for illegal blood sales.
From 31 Mar 2018, the policy is stopped. All the blood for clinical usage will all come from blood donation without repayment. There is a serious lack of blood, especially blood components.
