A republic, founded in the wake of the Atlantic Revolutions, the United States of America is a country primarily in Northern America. It hosts the largest diplomatic influence of our current time, and has been a dominating force on the international stage for the past century and a half.
Following its Declaration of Independence, and subsequent war, the United States rapidly expanded westward from its territory, into Indigenous lands, and those claimed by foreign powers. Tensions involving slavery and governmental power would begin a brief period of civil war, followed by economic and military growth, suspended by an economic crisis early in the 20th century, then exponentiated by its involvement in WWII. The US would see a rivalry with the communist Soviet Union for nearly half a century afterwards, while moral and institutional changes continued.
