The Seven Year's War was a global conflict that pitted Britain and Prussia against France, Austria, and Russia in Europe. In the Indian Ocean, France and England competed for hegemony and control of trade by allying with local rulers, while in the Americas, the war merged with the French and Indian War where French and British armies made separate alliances with indigenous peoples in an effort to outmaneuver each other. British victory ousted French merchants from India and also took control of all French colonies in Canada, leading to British hegemony and dominance in both North America and India.
