Jean Baudrillard (27 jul 1929 ano – 6 mar 2007 ano)

Descrição:

Jean Baudrillard, (1927-2007), was a French sociologist, philosopher, cultural theorist and photographer, and political commentator. He formulated the idea of simulation and hyperreality. He is best known for his analytical approach on the media, contemporary culture and technological communication.

Simulacrum and Simulation:

According to Baudrillard, Simulacrum effects us in a way that we do not get the chance to experience and interpret reality in our own way, thus we do not create our own individual and real needs. Instead we are directed into imputed and created needs out of i.e. what commercial images promote as needs. In this way we see and think upon what society has decided for us and that makes us “controlled” to a major degree, up to a that we do not get to decide or experience what is “under” the symbolic and liquified translations of the once existing reality.
