- Separation of Power Doctrine --> separation of executive and legislative functions --> inclusion of 6 new members for legislative function ****Central Legislative Council****
- The legislative wing came to be known as the Indian Legislative Council(ILC) --> law to be promulgated needs the assent of GG and he can veto any Bill in the legislative council
- Local representation was introduced in the Indian legislature --> of the six new legislative members in GG's legislative council, 4 members were appointed by the local governments of Madras, Bombay, Bengal, and Agra
- No timeline on the company's possession of territories unless Parliament provides otherwise
- Reduction of the strength of COD to 18
- Services were thrown open to a competitive examination --> Indians being allowed, merit-based selection of servants now
- Law member to be a full-time member of the GG council
