Ecrad claimed the Zirita Province of Duyavarm due to the large Ecradii speaking minority there.

Ecrad took the opportunity of Duyavarm coming off of an economic depression. As the Duyvarm government did not want to risk another economic collapse, they did not invest heavily in their military after the Duyavarm-Ecradi Trade war. This allowed Ecrad to gain a necessary upper hand during the war.
