-Evangelicalism includes group of people who follow a type of Christianity that puts a strong focus on personal belief and spreading their faith to others.Their child-rearing technique relies on religious education and connection with god.
- Moderates try to find a middle ground or balanced view, especially in religious discussions. child-rearing is more flexible.
-Genteels express religious ideas that emphasizes being cultured, refined, and intellectual. They like to connect their faith with art, literature, and sophisticated thinking. Child-rearing focus on education and intellectual curiosity.
These groups and their ideas contributed with study of mind and behavour in psychology. The strong feelings, the search for balance, and the emphasis on culture and intellect shaped the way psychologists look at why people do what they do and how they feel. Different child rearing strategies showed the impact of each strategy on human development and impact of family structure (Garrett, 1979).
