Descrição:

Who - US, UK, and the French African countries
What - The US and UK invaded the French-influenced North African countries like Morrocco and Algeria
Where - North Africa
Why - Britain didn’t feel strong enough to attack Germany or France head-on, so they and the US hit France indirectly (through other countries)

Operation "Torch" was one of the first major operations that the US had done during WWII. It really got the US and Britain into their groove of planning things out and carrying them through.
