OttoEmp vs RussEmp/Eastern Orthodox coalition (Bulg, Rom, Serb, Mont).

Originated from Balkan nationalism and R hopes of recovering territory lost during Crimean War, reestablishing self in Black Sea, and supporting freedom of Balkans from OttoEmp; results (Treaty of San Stefano): R got some land in Caucasus; Serb/Rom/Mont got independence from Otto; Bulg reestablished as Principality of Bulg. also ordered Turkey to pay a large indemnity to Russia. (Later replaced w/ Treaty of Berlin).
