Descrição:

A failed CIA operation to overthrow the Cuban government under the leadership of Fidel Castro.

Cuban military and local resistance along with the Cuban air force quickly defeated the group of Cuban exiles sent by the CIA to create an uprising.

This strained US-Cuban relations and prompted Castro to turn to the Soviet Union for military support, which in turn lead to the Cuban Missile Crisis the following year.
