Descrição:

Fought between Britain and the 2 Boer republics (Transvaal and Orange Free State). Chamberlain (Colonial Secretary) wanted Uitlander rights, believed Boer independence undermined British control. Talks of a united South Africa. Transvaal was rich with gold. Britain won, Boer republics absorbed into British Empire with the Treaty of Vereeniging (1902). Britain later received criticism for use of concentration camps.
