The Ming Dynasty was the last (ethnically) Han Dynasty to rule China. They had an army of over 1 million troops and a powerful navy. Under the Ming Dynasty, The Forbidden City was built and the Great Wall and Great Canal was restored. This period also saw interaction with foreign people in the form of trade with Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish merchants. The Ming Dynasty was eventually undermined by economic difficulties and natural calamities.
