Descrição:
Russia lost almost two million troops and commanders on the Eastern Front between 1914 and 1917, as its under-equipped forces were annihilated. The battle has grown quite unpopular. Rioting snowballs into revolution in March 1917, forcing the abdication of Russia's last monarch, Nicholas II. The new socialist-led administration is fighting for authority and has no plans to leave the battlefield. A few months later, a second revolution occurs, and Vladimir Lenin's Bolsheviks capture control. Their first choice is to look for a way out of the fight. By the 15th of December, Lenin had reached an armistice with Germany. The treaty that follows in March is a disaster for Russia, leaving vast swaths of its western territory to Germany (including Poland, the Baltic republics, and Finland) and reducing its population by about a third.
