Montgomery Bus Boycott (5 dez 1956 ano – 20 dez 1956 ano)

Descrição:

For 15 days, African Americans refused to ride city buses in Montgomery to protest segregated seating. This civil rights protest is regarded as the first large scale U.S. demonstration against segregation. Four days prior, Rosa Parks was arrested for not giving up her seat to a white man.

The Supreme Court ordered the Montgomery bus system to integrate, and, from this boycott emerged Martin Luther King, Jr, one of the most prominent figures in the civil rights movement.
