one of the weaknesses of the Articles of confederation that helped shape the Constitution was the lack of an executive branch later established in the constitution to have a stronger central government. another weakness of the Articles of confederation was that there was no judicial branch which was later added to the constitution, establishing the supreme court. Finally another weakness of the Articles of confederation was that congress had no power to tax which was later then enforced in the constititution.
