Louis was drafted into the war, after purposely failing his first physical to pursue a movie role (They Died With Their Boots On) he was currently filling, Louis began his role in the Air Force on September 29, 1941. As a bombardier, his role in the airforce intensified when he was included in the US bombings against Japan on B-24 Liberators.
