Neolithic Jerico (1 jan 8000 ano antes da era comum – 1 jan 7000 ano antes da era comum)

Descrição:

Also known as Tell es-Sultan, ancient Jerico is one of the oldest towns we know of. It was surrounded by a 5-foot-thick wall. They were true settlers who made agriculture their way of life.
Jerico was low in elevation, had fertile soil and many natural sources of water, making it an idea place for agriculture to begin.
The human head depicted above is an example of a possible ancestor-worship practice: when their family members died, they removed the skull and sculpted a plaster face over the top.
