Li Bai (1 jan 701 ano – 1 jan 762 ano)

Li Bai was born around 701 CE and his family moved to Jiangyou when he was 5 years old. He expressed the wish of becoming an official but he never did the civil service examination. When Li Bai was 25 years old he decided to wander China, living a carefree life while drinking wine. He was eventually given a post at the Hanlin Academy to provide a source of scholarly expertise and poetry for the Emperor but was dismissed after 2 years for unknown reasons. Afterwards Li Bai wandered China for the rest of his life, meeting another famous poet named Du Fu along the way.

Li Bai became involved in a revolt against the emperor during the time of the An Lusian rebellion (though the extent of which is unclear) and was exiled to Yelang. But, he was pardoned before the exile journey was finished. Li bai was said to have supposedly died in Dangtu when he drowned trying to catch the moon's reflection in a river.
