The Stolen Generations (6 jan 1910 ano – 6 jan 1969 ano)
Descrição:
Cause: Government, White Australians, discrimination, and racism against FNP.
The white Australians unfortunately wanted the First Nations Peoples to
"die out", so they forcibly stole children for a very young age, from their
parents. The children were taken to a foster home. They were treated unfairly at the foster home, and didn't get a good quality education. Some were taken to a school were they learned British religions and weren't allowed to be in contact with their families.
People Effected: First nations parents and Children
The First Nations Peoples were dramatically effected because their
children were in most cases snatched from them and brought to a place and taught the things that they didn't believe in. Parents were scared and the children experienced a lot of trauma.
Perspectives
Stolen Children: The FNP children would've been sad because many of them experienced abuse, racism and were scarred.
Stolen Generation's Parents: The children's parents were frightend and worried. They were sad that their children got taken away and some never got to see them again.
Government: The government didn't care about this because he didn't stop it. There were many protests about this terrible event.
