Fredbear's Family Diner (15 maio 1983 ano – 5 set 1983 ano)
Descrição:
Where it all started in the 70s of Hurricane, Utah [E1], is The Wonderful Fredbear's Singin' Show, with the local singing bear, Freddy, which was established by American man Henry Emily and British man, William “I take 10 seconds to draw!” Afton. Although, Henry is recognized as the official owner of the business [E2]. General admission was a whole 50¢, but tickets to enter are sold inside.
Sometime before 1983, the place eventually evolves into Fredbear's Family Diner [1], replacing the original real bear with robots who can automatically do the job better. The feature mascot was what we professionals refer to in this business as a “yellow bear”, named Fredbear, and his golden rabbit partner Spring Bonnie. Fredbear was derived from a combination of the former real bear "Freddy" and "bear", however "Freddybear" was too long and punny, so it was shortened to Fredbear. Spring Bonnie derives his name from the spring lock mechanisms they use [2]. These changes were not only made for automation purposes, but also because anything gold is automatically cooler. There are also some extras of the two, one of which is known as Golden Freddy [3].
The specially designed animatronics also double as wearable mascot suits, by using the spring locks to switch between the two modes. While in animatronic mode, they are set to walk towards any sounds they hear, as a hands-free approach for ease of operation to maximize crowd pleasing value [4].
A crank is provided by the manufacturer, which must be inserted and turned to recoil and compress the animatronic parts to the sides of the suit [5]. This provides enough space for an employee to climb inside the suit, it may take a few moments to position the head and torso in a proper manner to move and speak. The spring locks must be fastened tight in order to avoid accidents/injuries/death/irreparable and grotesque maiming, which can occur if the spring locks loosen.
Spring locks can be loosened by nudging them, touching them, breathing on them, moistening them, or the wearer's pulse. The spring locks work similarly to a clock, being fully tightened at the 12 o'clock position and unwinding clockwise, fully loosening once it has made a full 360° rotation back to the start. A blinking red warning light activates on the spring lock when it passes halfway at the 6:00 position. If the spring locks loosen while the suit is being worn, employees are instructed to maneuver away from populated areas, before bleeding out, to avoid ruining the customer experience.
The franchise is successful enough to create a “Fredbear and Friends!” (1983) television series, as well as merch, including plushies, action figures, and masks of the characters. Ironically enough, the establishment's phone number is 1-800-083, since they do deliveries too.
In the summer of 198[E3], five days before the birthday party of Crying Child, William's youngest son, he is pranked by his older brother, Michael “Mike” Afton [E4]. This time, Crying Child is locked in his room again [6]. Crying Child is not scared though, since he has the company of his Fredbear plushie and other Fazbear plushie friends, although Foxy seems to have lost his head from the situation at hand. To avoid constantly saying plushie, yet to also avoid any potential confusion from the described likeness, I shall call him “Friendbear”. Crying Child knocks on the door a bit, but nobody answers his knock-knock joke, before crying on the floor. Tomorrow is another day.
The next day, the door to Crying Child's room has been removed, due to being locked [7]. So, Crying Child gets up off the floor to briefly explore the four whole accessible rooms of the house, since there is another blocked door in the living room. Somehow, Friendbear sits atop His Grandfather's Clock, while Crying Child passes by the illegible family photos to see an empty sister's room. Besides reskinned furnitre from his own room, the only notable thing inside is a mangled toy on the ground. This room never has, and never will have any relevance.
Crying Child just knows Mike is hiding again and he will not stop until Crying Child happens upon him [8]. Entering the living room, he notices how strange it is for the television and couch to be lined up next to one another, side by side. Being the Prankster that Mike is, this was actually an elaborate trap set up for when Crying Child would inevitably investiage the unusual arrangement. Crying Child is scared by the Foxy mask wearing Mike jumpscaring him from behind the television, before crying on the floor. Tomorrow is another day.
Three days until the party, Crying Child is left behind, under a table, at Fredbear's Family Diner by Mike, who knows how much he hates being there [9]. Crying Child is right beside the exit, so he can make it if he runs [10]. He tries to hurry toward the exit, but walks the other way. He remembers what he saw and hurries to leave the right way, but it is too late. The exit is blocked by an employee in a Fredbear suit, who was randomly standing outside the restaurant and waiting to reenter at the right moment. Now Crying Child hurries the other way to find someone who will help, since he knows what will happen if he catches him [11]. Crying Child spots the shadows of the Fredbear and Spring Bonnie animatronics performing onstage, he has to be strong to find help if he can get past them. He is not strong enough and retreats back into the restaurant to catch a glimpse of the back room. William Afton is helping another employee into a Spring Bonnie suit, but he does not see it that way [E5], instead only able to make out a Purple Guy in the shadows. Somehow, the doors close on their own, leaving only Crying Child and the man in the Fredbear suit just standing there… MENACINGLY! The man catches up to Crying Child as soon as he turns his back [12], before crying on the floor. Tomorrow is another day.
After having spent the last day at Fredbear's Family Diner, Crying Child is still under a table there. Mike hates him, which is already kind of obvious, but Crying Child has to get up. He has to hurry, because he can get out this time.
After successfully leaving the diner, he talks to the most androgynous kid ever, standing in the middle of the parking lot. The kid asks where Crying Child's plush toy is, the kid's plush is Spring Bonnie. Their father says the kid has to be careful with him, or they will pinch their finger, calling it a finger trap. Crying Child leaves the nonsensical parking lot in order to walk to his house, which is the neighboring building to Fredbear's Family Diner [13].
On the side of the sidewalk is a pigtailed girl, warning Crying Child to watch out and not just for Santa Claus, but because she hears they come to life at night (WHAT COME TO LIFE, IS SEPCIFIED OR NOT?). If someone dies, they hide the body and never tell anyone [14]. She asks why he looks so worried, and will see him at the party, before laughing [A1].
On the sidewalk corner, but not the street corner, is a laughing boy, who asks if Crying Child is the kid always shaking and crying under the table. The laughing boy laughs at him [A1], mocking that no one else is scared, so what reason does Crying Child have? Crying Child should just stop being such a baby.
Crying Child takes a brief detour to a playground almost attached to his house for another one-sided conversation. A girl with a trio of Fazbear action figures asks why Crying Child is crying [15], does he not like her toy collection? [16]
A balloon boy [17] questions if Crying Child is going to the party, since everyone is going. He teases that Crying Child has to go, because it is his own party, before laughing [A1]. This is probably news to Crying Child as well.
Crying Child arrives back home, just around the corner from Fredbear's Family Diner, and realizes he has to be careful. So he obviously chooses to turn the television on to the channel that forever replays the same single short episode of “Fredbear and Friends!” (1983) [E7]. Crying Child enters his bedroom only to be scared by Mike jumping out from under his bed, before crying on the floor. Tomorrow is another day.
The day before his party, Crying Child is locked in a back room of Fredbear's Family Diner [18], because Mike is too busy getting a tan to legitimately bully him for the day. Crying Child politely begs to be let out. He shouts please and asks again, before crying on the floor. Tomorrow is not another day.
At Crying Child's birthday party the following day, despite the balloon kid saying everyone was going, the only people present are Crying Child, Mike, and three of his friends. Although one is the laughing boy from two days ago, literally everyone else who said they were going did not go.
Everyone except Crying Child is wearing their Fazbear masks, so they start to bully him for it, even though it is not his fault they were Out of Stock. Either the Chica or Bonnie masked bully [E8] comments on how much of a baby Crying Child is, which Mike finds hilarious [19]. He suggests they help Crying Child get a closer look, thinking he will love it. Crying Child pleadingly answers with a straight no. Michael mishears that he wants to get up close and personal, so the guys give the little man a lift to help him over. Crying Child restates his desire to not go, but Michael misinterprets this as Crying Child not wanting to leave the establishment, bringing him even closer to the performing Spring Bonnie and Fredbear. Michael's terrible hearing leads him to believe that Crying Child wants to give Fredbear a big kiss.
On the count of three [20], Michael and the Bonnie mask bully lift Crying Child up to Fredbear [21], so he can confess easier [22]. They manage to force a kiss between Crying Child with Fredbear, to make the nonexistent fan fiction ship come true. So he can have plausible deniability as witness to the event, Spring Bonnie is turned around, and does not do anything about it. Fredbear cannot do anything either, since his mouth is full of Crying Child, but he also does not consent to the PDA. In a perfectly reasonable response, Fredbear bites down on Crying Child with enough force to break through his human skull to put an end to any potential fan fiction about the moment, which actually works out pretty well. (Watch someone do that specifically because of this.) [23] What does not work out pretty well is Crying Child's head as it gets absolutely flattened, before crying on the floor (of Fredbear's mouth).
Crying Child is brought to a hospital, hooked up to an IV drip, given ambiguous pills, and flowers, where Michael asks if he can hear him. He does not get a response, so he does not know, but Michael apologizes to Crying Child anyway for the whole accidentally committing manslaughter thing.
Crying Child has a conversation with his own Fazbear plushies, but in his mind. Friendbear informs him that he is broken (as if the heart monitor didn't make it clear enough already). After headless Foxy disappears, he assures Crying Child they are still his friends, even as Chica chickens out behind him. Friendbear asks if Crying Child still believes that, but the vanishing Bonnie does not fill him with enough confidence to even answer the question. Friendbear states he is still here, and Freddy flees as well to make the statement more fittingly true. He promises that he will put Crying Child back together, before phasing out of existence too. Crying Child promptly flat lines, before crying on the floor of the black void.
[24] By the way, Friendbear was here stalking Crying Child everywhere and also there psychically communing with him this entire time to narrate his thoughts. (Just a tiny detail I neglected to mention.)
All in all, Crying Child is still sad.
