In the early 90s, the first instances of MP3 players was invented. The very first, developed by Frauenhofer, was unsuccessful. However, in 1997, the developer Tomislav Uzlac of Advanced Multimedia Products created the AMP MP3 Playback Engine, the first successful MP3 player.
