Brother of Edward IV.
- 1485: End of the War of the Roses. Battle of Bosworth Field in Leicestershire . Henry Richmond, descendant of John of Gaunt, father of Henry IV, landed in west Wales, gathering forces as he marched into England. He defeated and killed Richard in what was to be the last important battle in the Wars of the Roses.
