Son of Henry V. 10 months old when he inherited the throne.
Regent of England: Duke of Gloucester
Regent of France: Duke of Beaufort
- 1453: End of the Hundred Years War. England lost all French land except for Calais.
- Founded both Eton College and King’s College, Cambridge
- 1454: Richard Duke of York, who was descended from king Edward III and had a claim to the throne, was appointed as "Protector of the Realm" because the king suffered from periods of insanity. The King recovered some months later and York was dismissed. Both sides started recruiting trained men to fight and preparing for war.Each side chose a badge: the Red Rose for Lancaster and the White Rose for York.
